5 of my Favorite Christmas Movies

The Holiday season is one of those times of the year when family and friends get together to enjoy each others company. It's also a great time to relax by yourself, curl up and watch a good movie. In between all the festivities these are five of the movies that I enjoy watching during the Holiday season.

I just can't believe that it's been 25 years since the original Die Hard movie. It's still my favorite but now there are four others to go with it. They're all available singly or as a set on DVD and Blu-ray. The Sound of Music is another timeless movie that's available on DVD and Blu-ray, as well as a limited special 50th Anniversary edition. I first saw this movie when I was knee high to a grasshopper so I know it's been around a long time.. It's a Wonderful Life has definiely been around longer than me and is also available on DVD and Blu-ray. The original black and white movie is also available as a color version.

Two of the more recent movies in my collection are This Christmas available on Blu-Ray and DVD and The Best Mans Holiday available on DVD.

How to Grow a Herb Garden

As we grow more health conscious and aware of the different types of foods that are required to keep us healthy more and more people are getting into growing their own food.  One of the easiest thing to plant and grow are herbs as they can be grown out in the garden of a house or the patio or window box of a flat.

Herbs are types of plants which have been used for centuries for various purposes including treating illnesses as well as adding flavour to cooking.  They are featured as ingredients in many of the commercial products we use today.Do you want to have your own herb garden? Here are a few ideas on how to establish an herb garden.

Plan your garden.

Consider the herbs you want to plant. Think about their types. Would you like annuals, biennials or perennials? Find out how much space they will occupy when fully grown.  List or draw your garden on paper first, Separating the annuals from the perennials so when the time comes that you have to pull out the annuals, you won’t be disturbing the perennials. Perennials can be planted on the edge of your garden so that when it is time to till your garden they won’t be in danger of getting dug up. Another thing to remember is to plant the tall ones at the back and the shorter ones in front. This is why good planning in the initial stages is important.  Also, provide your plants with enough space to grow. Proper position shall help you in this area.

How to start your herb garden

You can go to your local garden center and buy packets of herb seeds or young plants.  You can
